Free Entry to Museums on September 29

September 29 is Smithsonian National Museum Day. Museum Day is an annual event hosted by Smithsonian Media in which participating museums across the country open their doors for free to anyone presenting a Museum Day Ticket. The Museum Day Ticket provides free admission to one person, plus a guest (One ticket per household). To get your ticket in advance (required), visit The Smithsonian Website.

Local participating museums include R.E. Olds Transportation Museum in Lansing and Sloan Museum and Longway Planetarium in Flint, .

Over 1,400 museums and cultural institutions nationwide in all 50 states are expected to participate. Over 350,000 people participated in Museum Day in 2011.
