Rick Green talks about the Constitution to over 100,000 people a year in live audiences and millions more through radio and television. He will be in Brighton on Sunday September 9 at Brighton Nazarene Church to share stories about the lives, fortunes, and sacred honor that have been risked or sacrificed to make America the most powerful and free nation in the history of the world. Elected to the Texas legislature at the age of 27, serving from 1999 to 2003, Rick currently consults and advises state officials and candidates in various capacities.
Tim Wessel, who works with students at Brighton Nazarene Church, says they have a few reasons for bringing Rick Green to Livingston County.
“He brings a strong and powerful message about our privilege and responsibility to be a part of the electoral process and the message of the US Constitution as a legal document that was designed with great care and purpose to guide our country and serve as a foundation on which our country would be built. Also, we want to remind people of what our founding fathers established as purposes for our country and the dangers involved in rewriting the constitution.”
Starting with 1776 and the Declaration of Independence, 1787 and the Constitutional Convention, the seminar continues step by step through the amendments and the current debates in our nation today over nullification, impeachment, the Electoral College, individual God-given rights. vs. group government-given rights, and the Constitution as a living document.
Even though this is an election year, Wessel insists “There is no political agenda behind this seminar. It is informational, educational and constitutional. There are no political affiliations associated with this event.”
There is no charge to hear Rick speak at the 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. Services on September 9. In the afternoon he will be offering a seminar from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person, $15 per couple, $20 per family or $5 per student.
