Thunder Over Michigan

08/02/2013 19:49 ● By Rick McGarry
The Thunder over Michigan Air Show will take place August 10th & 11th. It is one of America's leading air shows and is considered the best "warbird" show in America. Held every summer at Willow Run Airport near Detroit, the show features world-class entertainment, unique static displays, and fun for the whole family.

The show will include a very rare aerial demonstration by the North American Aviation F-100 Super Sabre. The show will also feature world-renowned civilian aerobatic performer Michael Goulian, a demonstration by the only single-seat flyable German Me-262 jet in the world, crowd-favorites WWII and Vietnam battle reenactments, and two specially-restored Vietnam-era UH-1 Huey helicopters.

Entry to the show is $35. Kids 15 and under are free. Parking is $15.

Yankee Air Museum's B-17 Flying Fortress “Yankee Lady” will be flying rides throughout air show weekend. Or, choose from one of these visiting aircraft: Cavanuagh Flight Museum’s Brat III Mustang, Cavanaugh Flight Museum’s Skyraider, CAF Cleveland Wing’s T-6 Texans, or Army Aviation Heritage Foundation’s "Huey" Helicopters. Rides will be $75/person.
